KARACHI, Oct 10: Three ships carrying containers, crude oil and to load molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves gathered fresh momentum thanks to larger arrivals. As a result, eight ships, Lanka Mahapola, Wan Hai-235, Kota Sejarah, Mol Sincerity to unload and load containers, Brave Banner to offload rock phosphate, Setiff-11, Daqing, to unload fertilizer and load naptha and Central Park to offload chemicals were berthed after the sailing of six.

The departing ships, were led by Song He, Global Power, Wan Hai-235, Pan Leader, Golden Fareast and Chembulk Fortitude, while Panarea, Da Qing, Kota Sejarah, Dubai and Saleh al-Deen are due to sail out on Thursday.

Three ships, MSC Laurance to offload containers, Anna and Bow Princess to offload palm oil and chemicals were standing out awaiting their berthing turn.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 81,024 tons comprising 17,712 tons of export cargo and 63,312 tons of import tonnage was handled.

KARACHI, Oct 10: Some 15,862 tons cargo, in addition to 517 containers (Teus), was handled during the last 24 hours, a PQA press release said on Wednesday.

The cargo consisted of 10,000 tons iron ore and 5,862 tons chemicals.

A ship Fortune Hera carrying 6,475 tons chemicals was berthed at Engro Vopak Terminal. Another ship carrying 45,586 tons HSD also arrived at the outer anchorage during the period.

Three ships, Contship Champion, Fortune Hera and Bunga Saga Empat were allotted berths to load/discharge containers, chemicals and iron ore respectively.

Contship Champion and Fortune Hera were expected to sail on Wednesday, Warbah carrying 45,586 tons HSD was expected to take berth at Fotco Oil Terminal on Wednesday and Chemical Exporter was due to arrive.

Three ships, Astra-P carrying wheat, Natalie and Edco Star loaded with coal were at the outer anchorage.
