Four die as vehicle falls into ravine

BAJAUR, Feb 19: Four Afghan nationals were killed and two other seriously wounded when a pick up plunged into a deep ravine in the tribal area of Bajaur Agency on Tuesday near the Pakistan-Afghan border.

Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred near Ghakhi Pass when a pick up (BJK-1417) was negotiating a narrow turn and fell several feet deep in a ravine.

The ill-fated passengers were on their way to Kunar province Afghanistan to attend the funeral of a relative.

Four persons including driver Rehmat Khan, Syed Akbar, Noor Zada and a woman Janat Bibi died on the spot while Syed Rehman and Pakiza Bibi received serious injuries.

In another accident two Afghans buried alive under  an avalanche near Pakistan-Afghan border.

Reports said the personnel of the Bajaur Scouts recovered the bodies and handed over to Afghan border security forces.
