Drug-trafficker awarded two-year RI

RAWALPINDI, Feb 19: The additional district and sessions judge, Mian Mohammad Shafi, awarded two years of rigorous imprisonment to a person for drugs trafficking.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs10,000 on the convict, Habibullah, in default of which he would have to undergo another six months of jail-term. The convict had been booked by Civil Line police in a search operation after recovering two kilograms of charas from his luggage.

BAIL PLEA REJECTED: The judge of anti terrorist court No. 2, Safdar Hussain Malik, on Wednesday rejected bail application of two persons in the Sri Saral case.

The court rejected the bail plea of Elahi Dad and Anwar, who were among the 22 Sri Saral villagers facing terrorism charges.

They had been booked by Golra police following a clash between Sri Saral villagers and Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials and police.
