HYDERABAD, Feb 10: The Sindhi Language Authority in collaboration with the Sindhika Academy, Karachi, has published a 1024-page the Urdu-Sindhi dictionary containing 50,000 words.
The dictionary, priced at Rs750, has been compiled by the renowned research scholar, Abdul Sattar Baloch, under the supervision of Noor Ahmed Memon and Prof Dr Mohammad Qasim Bughio, chairman of the Sindhika Academy.
Earlier, a similar dictionary, containing 589 pages and 19,660 words, was compiled by the Sindh University in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
The chairman of the Pakistan Academy of Letters, Iftikhar Arif, who visited various departments of the Sindhi Language Authority here on Saturday, was also shown the new dictionary.
He evinced keen interest in the dictionary as well as the dictionary of Shah Jo Risalo — Roshni.
