MIRPURKHAS, Feb 9: Growers of the Mari Minor have demanded of the Sindh irrigation minister and the Nara Canal Area Water Board director to remove illegal outlets from the waterway.
Talking to journalists at the press club here on Saturday, Abdul Ghafoor Mahar, the vice-president, Sindh Abadgar Board, Mirpurkhas, Mubarak Mahar and other growers said 23 watercourses were sanctioned on the Mari Minor.
However, they deplored, 50 illegal watercourses had been taken out of the minor.
ADVISOR: The advisor to the Sindh chief minister, Faqir Jadam Mangrio, has said the government was making efforts to solve problems of the people, especially of unemployment and water shortage.
Talking to journalists at a reception, hosted by minority leader Seth Lachhman Das, here the other day, the advisor said district status of Umerkot would soon be restored.
