HAMILTON (New Zealand), Feb 6: New Zealand No. 1 Mark Nielsen will face Pakistan No. 2 Aqeel Khan in the opening singles of the Asia-Oceania first-round Davis Cup match beginning on Friday.

New Zealand’s No. 2 Alistair Hunt will meet Pakistan No. 1 Aisam Qureshi in the second singles. The same four players will contest the doubles on Saturday, although pairings can be changed up until an hour before the match.

Hunt’s recent Davis Cup record is impressive. He won his opening singles against Indonesia last year and scored an important win in New Zealand’s zonal match against Thailand in 2000.—AFP
