RAWALPINDI, Feb 6: The judicial magistrate, Hidayatullah Shah, on Thursday issued contempt of court notices to the SSP Rawalpindi and the medical superintendent (MS) of District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for not complying with court orders.

According to the court, the judge had asked SSP Morawat Ali Shah to take actions against some policemen of Waras Khan police station.

The policemen had allegedly deprived a person, Mohammad Imran, of cash, a gold chain and mobile phone when he was returning home from duty. They had also severely beaten up Imran when he tried to resist.

According to the complainant, the policemen had also threatened him of dire consequences if he tried to initiate any legal procedure against them.

The court, through a notice, had asked the medical superintendent DHQ, Dr Rashid, to prepare a medical report of the victim, but, both the SSP and MS did not comply with the court orders. They even did not inform the court about their progress in the case.

According to the notice, both of them would have to appear before the court on February 22.

Meanwhile, the judicial magistrate, Hasnain Qadir Ghillo, issued a notice to the SSP, Rawalpindi, and directed him to take action against the station house officers (SHOs) of four police stations, who were frequently not appearing before the court to record their statements in various criminal cases, despite being witnesses.

The court has asked the SSP to take action against the SHOs of New Town, Rawat, Banni and Waras Khan police stations.

According to the court, the SHOs were wasting the valuable time of the court.

ACQUITTED: The additional district and sessions judge, Sanaullah Malik, on Thursday acquitted four brothers of murder charges as both the parties had reached a reconciliation.

Fazal-i-Karim, Fazal-i-Rahim, Fazal-i-Rabi and Fazl-i-Wahab, residents of Mardan, had been booked by R.A. Bazaar police station for killing Mushtaq Ahmad in Harley Street over a family feud five years ago.

Meanwhile, the additional district and sessions judge, Syed Pervez Ali Shah, exonerated four persons of the charge of murder owing to the non-availability of evidence against them.
