KARACHI, Feb 6: Four ships carrying containers and soyabean meal are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Five ships, Cape Henry, Al-Mariyah, Hyundai Stride to unload and load containers, Panos-G to offload crude oil and Botany Triton to load ethanol were berthed after the departure of as many.

The ships, which departed included Mar Challenger, APL Dalian, Sima Bahar, Impros and Cape Henry, while Al-Mariyah, Babur Kaptan, Botany Triton, MOL Sincerity and Panos-G are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity on the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 70,152 tons comprising 20,632 tons of export cargo including 10,700 tons of molasses and 49,520 tons of import cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: PONL Malandi, Kota Indah, Wan Hai-301, with containers and Mercs Kirinda, with 2,100 tons of soyabean meal.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, Feb 6: Two ships carrying furnace oil and edible oil arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Thursday.

Msc Pamela, S-Pioner, Fair Mare and E-Trader were at the wharves busy in loading/discharging containers, wheat and furnace oil and iron ore respectively.

Total tonnage handled rose to 74,239 tons comprising 68,170 tons of import cargo and 6,069 tons of export cargo inclusive of cargo carried in 1,107 containers.

Sailing activity also active as three ships, Gold River, Msc Teresa and Fair Mare sailed out, while Msc Pamela was due to leave the port on Thursday.

Three ships, Fuji Hoshi, Devon and Francisca Schulte were expected to take berths at Fotco Oil Terminal and Qasim International Container Terminal.
