RAWALPINDI, Jan 31: The additional district and sessions judge, Rafiuz Zaman, on Friday visited Adiala Jail and set free 110 prisoners, who had been convicted of minor offences.

Mr Zaman visited Adiala Jail on the instruction of the district and sessions judge, Dost Mohammad Khemta.

The prisoners were undergoing various jail-terms in minor offences like 9 A, 107 and 151 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

BAIL GRANTED: The additional district and sessions judge, Sanaullah Malik, granted bail to a person who was allegedly involved in the screening of obscene film at the Islamabad airport, on January 18.

Sajid Mehmood, an operator of a cable company, had been booked by the airport police after an inquiry team held him responsible for screening obscene film at the airport.

In its bail plea, the defence council contended that the accused had been falsely implicated in the case besides, the offence was also a bailable one. On the other hand, the prosecution failed to present any substantial evidences against the accused.

THREE ACQUITTED: The additional district and sessions judge, Sayyed Pervez Ali Shah, acquitted three persons of assaulting a boy as both the parties agreed on reconciliation.

The accused, Mushtaq, Muneer and Qamar Aftab, had been booked by Westridge police for assaulting a boy, Yasir.

BAIL REJECTED: The additional district and sessions judge, Mohammad Sarwar Sidhu, rejected the bail application of an alleged drug-trafficker.

The Westridge police had booked the accused, Sheeraz, after recovering 0.5 kg of charas from his luggage.

The additional district and sessions judge, Mian Mohammad Shafi, rejected the bail application of a person, Javid Iqbal, who had been booked by Civil Line police for allegedly depriving a person of his money.
