PESHAWAR, Jan 30: Two police constables were suspended on the charges of conniving at robberies, sources told Dawn on Thursday.

An Afghan, Hakeem Said, and a resident of Zargarabad, Shakeel, were arrested by Gulbahar police on Tuesday last, when they were trying to escape with a stolen briefcase. During investigation, the accused revealed that they had been committing robberies with the help of two constables of Gulbahar police station, Ziafat and Abdullah, for the last five years.

The Capital City Police on Thursday suspended the cops and formed a committee to probe into the allegations.—Bureau
