HYDERABAD, Jan 24: The Anjuman Imamia Sindh (AIS) has rejected the allegations levelled against it and the Mirza family by Ali Mohammad Channa and Imdad Shaikh at the recently-held press conference saying that both these persons had been expelled from the organization in 1993.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, a spokesman of the AIS said that among the seven patrons of the organization, three were Syeds and four belonged to the Mirza family, whereas out of 36 members of the working committee only five belonged to the Mirza family, 13 were Syeds, while the rest belonged to different communities and areas.

The spokesman said that since 1908, the accounts of the organization had been regularly audited every month and every year.

He said the AIS was performing its religious duties without any discrimination for the last one hundred years, and added that Mr Channa and Mr Shaikh were trying to create differences.
