$7.081m orders booked at Heimtextile

KARACHI, Jan 16: Pakistani exporters received 866 trade enquiries and booked orders worth $7.081 million in bedlinen and towels category at Heimtextile trade fair.

Whereas decorative fabric manufacturers and designers received 229 trade enquiries with orders worth $179,000. However, estimated total future orders are being placed at around $3.12 million.

The fair managed to set a new record of exhibitor participation this year, registering an all time high of 3,245 as against 3,155 last year. Pakistan also registered its highest participation in term of exhibitors as a total of 210 exporters displayed a wide range of products.

Heimtextile, world’s biggest trade fair for home and commercially used textiles, was held at Frankfurt from Jan 8 to 11, 2003. Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar also visited the fair on Jan 10, and met Pakistani exhibitors at their stalls. He appreciated the quality of products displayed and their presentation during the fair. Pakistan pavilion was organized by the Export Promotion Bureau.
