KARACHI, Jan 16: Six ships carrying containers, crude oil and to load naphtha are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Mar Challenger, India Star, Al-Manakh to offload and load containers, Multan to unload general cargo and Gulf Lion to offload oil.
Four ships, APL Cairo, Al-Manakh, Crux and Warbah departed, while Islamabad, India Star, Mar Challenger and Mol Sincerity are due to sail out on Friday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was brisk where a total tonnage of 75,763 tons comprising 6,050 tons of export tonnage including 1,820 tons of rice and 69,713 tons of import cargo was handled.
The following ships are due on Friday: Sorena, with 69,000 tons of crude oil, Emerald Sky, to load 40,000 tons of naphtha, Kota Tegap, Golden Bay, Ocean Luna and Wan Hai-302, with containers.
KARACHI, Jan 16: Two ships scheduled to load and offload containers and chemicals were accommodated berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Thursday.
Six ships, Edna, Medi Manila, Pearl of Jeddah, Popi-S, Mutaira and Eastern Liberity were busy in loading/offloading containers, edible oil and chemicals.
A cargo volume of 57,243 tons comprising 48,794 tons of import and 8,449 tons of export tonnage, inclusive of cargo carried in 1,844 containers (Teus), was handled.
Two ships, Medi Manila and Popi-S sailed out, while Eastern Liberity was due to leave the port on Thursday.
Francisca Schulte and E-Trader were expected to take berths at QICT and Steel Jetty.
