KARACHI, Nov 24: Suspecting some foul-play in the working of some commercial concerns at Hill Park, the city Nazim, Naimatullah Khan, on Saturday sought the record of such units.

The Nazim, who visited the Hill Park on Friday, was informed that although the KDA was required to cancel lease of all those commercial organisations in the light of a decision taken in 1996, the authority had, so far, failed to do so.

He was also informed that the Mairaj Amusement park, situated in the compound of Hill Park, had been lying barren since long, besides a private party had illegally rented out a tower of the park to a mobile phone company.

Taking notice of such irregularities, the Nazim asked the concerned officials to submit files of all shops and commercial concerns so that their leases papers could be scrutinised.

He was annoyed to see that Hill Park’s Lake had filthy water, and directed the officials to immediately got it replaced with fresh water.

He also directed the officials to make arrangements for beautifying the park’s mountains, replace all faulty street-lights, improve the condition of fountains, and plant more and more trees in and around the park.

FB AREA PARK: The Nazim, who also visited Federal B’ Area’s Block 4 Park, was informed that some unscrupulous elements in the past had carved out a number of plots on the park’s land.

On seeing that the park has heavily encroached upon, Mr Khan directed the officials to submit him a report of the park, along with its old map.

The Nazim asked the officials to take measures for developing the park in cooperation with private sector.
