MIRPURKHAS, Jan 12: A retired captain and owner of a number of housing schemes, Ghulam Hussain Sacharvi, has been charge-sheeted in the court of the judicial magistrate, Mirpurkhas, on forgery charges.

The Old Mirpur police had registered an FIR under section 420 PPC alleging that Ahmed Ali had purchased a plot in the housing scheme of Ali town, phase-I, in 1980 from Ghulam Hussain Sacharvi, who was the guardian of his son, Taha Hussain, through registry. But the owner of the scheme resold the plot to Abdul Ghaffar in 1995-96.

The police submitted the charge-sheet in the court of the judicial magistrate, Mirpurkhas.

Ghulam was arrested by the police. However, he was later granted bail by a local court.

RELIEF CENTRES: Following complaints regarding setting up more relief centres, the EDO, Revenue, Mirpurkhas, Mushtaque Shaikh, has ordered to set up six relief camps in the drought-hit areas of the district.

Under the government relief programme, 30,000 wheat bags would be distributed among the drought-affected people in the arid zone of the district.

Committees had been formed to supervize the distribution process at 48 centres.

LOOTED: Three robbers stole Rs128,000 from the Taufiq petrol pump near Kunri on Thursday night.

Its manager, Majid Hussain, lodged an FIR with the Samaro police that three robbers had stolen Rs128,000 from him while he was at the petrol pump.

PRIVATE SCHOOLS: The president, District Private Schools Association, Mirpurkhas, Saeed Ahmed Qaimkhani, has called upon the governor and chief minister, Sindh, to withdraw sub-section 10, 11, and 12 of the Private Schools Ordinance and present it in the assembly.

He was speaking at a general body meeting of the District Private Schools Association, which was held on Saturday.

Rais Ahmed Khan lamented that the Sindh Education Foundation did not provide any grant to the private schools of lower Sindh.
