Establishment Census partially completed

KARACHI: There are 3,543 industrial and building establishments, employing 7,959 persons, including 294 females, in Zone 2 of the city.

Zone 2 comprises Jacob Lines, Jutland Lines, Tunissia Lines, Abyssinia Lines, Aluminum Quarters, Khudadad Colony, Old Exhibition, Sindhi Muslim Housing Society, PECH Society, KCHS Union Societies, Mohammad Ali Housing Society, Karsaz and PAF (up to Drigh Road Railway Station).

These figures were released by the Central Statistical Office at the conclusion of the establishment census in the Zone yesterday. The offices divided the city into 10 zones for the purposes of the census, which started on Oct 18. — Staff Correspondent
