ISLAMABAD, Nov 24: A five-day training workshop for 30 radio producers and presenters from 25 districts of the country concluded here on Friday.
The workshop, “Media for peace” was conducted under the project “Pakistan peace initiative” to equip Radio Pakistan’s producers and presenters with collaborative approaches to problem solving as effective media professionals.
The event was organised by Uks Research Centre in collaboration with Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC).
Masud Alam, a journalist/trainer, urged the participants to lead the industry through the practice of ethical journalism.
Country Director of Search for Common Ground, Ammara Durrani, said radio’s mass appeal in Pakistan had withstood the challenges posed by the growth of electronic media.
Director General PBC Murtaza Solangi said: “The training provided to broadcasters will enhance their capacity in radio for peace building.”—A Reporter
