HYDERABAD, Jan 7: The chairman of the Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party, Dr Qadir Magsi, has criticised the delay in the National Finance Commission award, saying that this was being purposely done by the federation to deprive Sindh of its due share in the resources.
He was delivering a lecture at a workers’ training workshop, held at the Taraqqi Pasand House here on Monday.
He criticized the appointment of Irfanullah Khan Marwat as the minister for education, Sindh.
He also regretted the attitude of the MPAs, especially those of the Sindh Democratic Alliance and the Grand Alliance on sensitive issues of Sindh.
He said that it would have been far better if some other person of greater calibre had been appointed as the education minister to improve the standard of education.
Magsi, who is also the president of the Pakistan Oppressed Nations Movement, Sindh, urged the Sindh government to concentrate on the burning issues of the province and to resolve the problems of the people.
PML-Q: The activists of some political parties here on Tuesday announced to join the Pakistan Muslim League (Q) at the residence of the district president of the PML(Q), Syed Shahabuddin Shah Hussaini.

MEMBERSHIP SUSPENDED: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association has suspended the membership of Prof Eijaz Ali Abro of the Girls College, Hala.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the regional president of the association, Prof Sher Khan Selero said that the membership of Prof Abro had been suspended on the charges of corruption, malpractice and misbehaviour with the university vigilance committee.
DEATH CONDOLED: The chairman of the Sindhi Adabi Board, Ghulam Rabbani Agro, has expressed profound sorrow and grief over the demise of the noted Sindhi poet, Niaz Humayoon.
