KARACHI, Nov 12: As the minority Hindu community in the city will celebrate their annual festival of lights, Diwali, on Tuesday (today), the police chief has ordered strict security arrangements on the occasion.

With the consent of Hindu community representatives, SSPs and divisional SPs concerned should prepare a security plan, said IGP Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari in a statement issued on Monday.

He directed station house officers to increase patrolling in the vicinity of temples and residential areas where Hindu community members live in large numbers.
