QUETTA, Oct 30: Government offices, banks and educational institutions reopened on Tuesday after Eidul Azha holidays, but out-patient departments and operation theatres in government hospitals remained closed as doctors continued their boycott in protest against the kidnapping of eye specialist Dr Saeed Khan.
Dr Khan, who is also principal of Layton Rahmatullah Benevolent Trust, was kidnapped from Sariab road on Oct 16.
The call for the boycott was given by the Balochistan chapter of Pakistan Medical Association 14 days ago.
The PMA had called for the boycott of OPDs and OTs for an indefinite period, saying the government and police had failed to provide security to doctors.
