HYDERABAD, Jan 1: Noted scholar and educationist Mohammad Ibrahim Joyo has said Sindh has been denied its national rights, in accordance with the 1940 Resolution, despite the lapse of 55 years.

He was speaking at a conference, organized on Tuesday night by the Sindh National Council and followers of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai at the shrine of Shah Latif to mark the new year.

He said the people of Sindh would have to launch a struggle for their rights.

Speaking on the occasion, Sindh National Council leader Hussain Bux Thebo also called for joint struggle against oppression.

Noted writer Taj Baloch said the new year should be celebrated by uniting Sindhis on one platform.

Javed Qazi, a columnist, said the Sindhi nation should seek guidance from the philosophy of Roomi, Kabir, Bahoo and Fareed.

The participants of the conference staged a candlelight march from the shrine of Shaikh Ayaz to that of Shah Latif to pay homage.

A large number of people, including writers, social workers and journalists, from all over the province attended the conference.

HESCO:Over 1,600 educated youth have been recruited in the Hesco to improve its performance.

This was stated by Hesco chief executive Brig (rtd) Tariq Arshad while speaking at the certificates distribution ceremony of trainee line superintendents at the Regional Training Centre in Jamshoro on Tuesday.

Expressing concern over the increase in the number of accidents, he urged the line staff to take precautionary measures before doing any maintenance work.

He said that no compensation would be paid to any employee if he ignored safety precautions and was injured.

He warned against intentional disruption of power supply to camouflage power theft, saying that the root cause of power theft should be eliminated.

He stressed on the need for improved performance and greater accountability, saying that no one would be spared if he were found to be involved in corruption.

Urging the company workers for greater vigilance, discipline and punctuality, he said that slackness in performance of duties would not be tolerated.
