KARACHI, Jan 1: Governor Ishrat-ul-Ibad and Maulana Shah Ahmed Noorani, President of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, exchanged views on various issues concerning Sindh during a meeting here on Wednesday.

The governor visited residence of the MMA chief to offer his condolences on the demise of Maulana Noorani’s father-in-law and offered fateha for the departed soul.

During their 30-minute discussions, the governor told him that he was keen to see the country and Sindh province developed and do his utmost for the welfare of people.

He advised him: “Instead of living in the past, we should learn lesson from it and move towards a better future.”

He assured the MMA chief that practical steps were being taken to eliminate the rural-urban divide and the menace of extortion.

He expressed the hope that all sections of the society would move together and extend their cooperation for the promotion of positive approach and action in the greater interest of the nation and country. He also invited Maulana Noorani to come forward with his cooperation and guidance in this regard.

“I believe in work without caring for name and fame,” he remarked adding, “whosoever will do a good work, he will be encouraged by us.”

Maulana Noorani pledged his cooperation in the progress and stability of the country and people.

Meanwhile, Governor Ishrat-ul-Ibad visited CM House here on Wednesday and discussed formation of the provincial cabinet with Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Khan Mahar.

Several other important issues were also discussed during the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Advocate General, Sindh, Anwar Mansoor Kamal, called on Dr Ibad at Governor House on Wednesday and discussed various important issues with him.

CONDOLENCE:The governor visited the residence in Orangi Town of victims of a bus accident that took place near Rahimyar Khan recently and offered condolence to the family of the deceased.—APP/PPI
