3 grenades recovered from PO

SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 27: Saddar police on Friday claim to have seized three hand-grenades from a proclaimed offender after a brief encounter in Dera Cheema near Khanqah Dogran.

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid and besieged the house where PO Kali Masih had taken shelter. Seeing police, the PO opened fire which was retaliated. As a result, the PO sustained bullet wounds. Later, police entered the house and arrested the injured outlaw. Police also recovered a Kalashnikov, three hand-grenades and cartridges from his possession.

TWO KILLED: Two persons were killed on Friday.

In Jandwali village near Khanqah Dogran, Akbar died instantly and his brother Ashiq sustained injuries when a tree fell on them.

Adnan, 7, was crushed to death by a tractor-trolley in Chamba village near Khanqah Dogran.
