KARACHI, Dec 27: Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar on Friday dispelled the impression of differences among coalition partners over allocation of ministries and said that formation of provincial cabinet would be finalized shortly.

Responding to newsmen questions after the oath-taking of Governor Ishratul Ibad Khan at the Governor’s House, he said the process of consultation among the coalition partners was going on and it would take few days to announce the cabinet.

When asked how many ministries would be allocated to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Mahar said the MQM would be given whatever demanded by them.

“We will sort out all problems together in a democratic way and there is nothing to worry,” he added.

To a question, the chief minister said he was determined to lift ban on recruitments and offer employment opportunities to the people of the province. Moreover, he would shortly announce a package for the development of the province, Mahar said.

The chief minister said he planned to hold public meetings throughout the province to get first-hand information about the problems being faced by the people so that steps could be taken for resolving their grievances.

When asked how he was going to maintain balance of power between the chief minister and the governor, Mahar said there would not be any dispute over the powers as both of them would act according to the Constitution.—PPI
