OKINAWA (Japan), Dec 20: American Ted Purdy pitched in for an eagle-two on his way to a seven-under-par 65 and a one-shot lead in the Okinawa Open after the weather-disrupted first round was completed on Friday.
The 29-year-old, who narrowly failed to secure his U.S. Tour card at the final stage of qualifying two weeks ago, holed out with a sandwedge from 91 yards on the par-four 18th before finishing a stroke clear of Japan’s Tomohiro Kondo.
