GILGIT, Dec 20: Federal Minister for Water and Power Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, who has recently taken additional charge of the Northern Areas chief executive, has vowed to serve the region without any discrimination. He was speaking to the members of the Northern Areas Legislative Council (NALC) who called on him on Thursday.

Mr Sherpao said the Northern Areas Cabinet had been delegated powers for managing their financial and administrative affairs, and pledged to assist the cabinet in discharging their duties in the larger interest of the masses.

He assured the visitors that Prime Minister Jamali would be asked to visit the Northern Areas to have first-hand knowledge of the issues.—Correspondent
