Moot on investment in Muslim countries

ISLAMABAD, Dec 19: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Investment and Privatization Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh signed here on Thursday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with E-Commerce Gateway, Singapore for arranging an international conference on investment and privatization in Muslim countries.

The conference will be held on April 18, next year here at Convention centre. Board of Investment (BoI) and Ministry of Privatization will collaborate with E-commerce Gateway Singapore and LT Engineering Pakistan.

The conference aims at increasing investment, privatization and trade among OIC member countries by ‘information exchange’ and business interactions’ among high ranking government officials, business leaders, VVIPs, heads of financial institutions and prime members of trade and business communities from OIC member countries.

A technology exhibition, Future 2003 will also take place with the conference in which the technology of Pakistan along with technology of friendly countries would be displayed.

The exhibition would not only enable technology organizations of Pakistan to show their products and services to the local visitors, but would also showcase Pakistan’s potentials to the delegates of the international conference.

The objective of this exhibition is to energise the public sector organizations working in defence/ engineering, telecom and aerospace industries with private sector companies, and to highlight the efforts made by the companies working in these industries, and their contribution towards the technological development of Pakistan.

Dr. Sheikh praised the efforts of the Singaporean company which is bringing many events in Pakistan like ITCN Asia, ITCN Saudi Arabia and assured his all support to the private sector investment in Pakistan.
