ISLAMABAD, June 20: A man was gunned down by the son-in-law of his brother here on Wednesday.

Police said Raza Khan and the accused A.K. were cousins and natives of Swabi in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Besides, the accused was also the son-in-law of the victim’s brother.

Both came to Islamabad to visit their in-laws, living in Gulshanabad locality of Tarnol a few days back.

On Wednesday, the accused reached the in-laws’ house of Raza and opened indiscriminate fire.

As a result, Raza received three bullets, one each in the head, chest and abdomen and died on the spot. The accused escaped from the scene.

The victim’s brother Nisar Khan, who is also the father-in-law of the accused, lodged a complaint with the police.

The police said the motive behind the murder was a family dispute. Preliminarily investigations suggested that the spouses of the victim and the accused had been quarrelling for the last couple of years.
