More ministers to join cabinet, says Jam

QUETTA, Dec 12: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousaf said on Wednesday that more ministers will be inducted into the provincial cabinet soon and it will comprise 25 to 27 members.

“The second batch of the ministers will take oath within a month,” he told newsmen after the cabinet’s oath-taking ceremony.

Replying to a question, he said women would also be given representation in the cabinet. He said the size of the cabinet would be in accordance with the number of provincial departments.

He denied any differences among the coalition partners on the nomination of the ministers and said: “We have nominated the ministers with consensus and consultation.”

The chief minister said he wanted to keep the size of the cabinet small but as it had been the practice in the past, all component of the coalition were accommodated. He said he would also appoint advisors.

Replying to a question about the National Finance Commission award, he said he would make all possible efforts to secure the rights of the province and expressed his hope that Islamabad would cooperate in this connection.
