PESHAWAR, Dec 9: Governor Iftikhar Hussain Shah has expressed concern over the incident of a landmine blast in Jamrud, Khyber Agency, which killed four people including the family members of Malik Hamid Khan Kukikhel.

In a condolence message the governor had prayed eternal peace for the departed souls and courage to the heirs to bear the tragic incident.

He termed it an unfortunate incident, and directed the political authorities to take stern action against the culprits.—PPI

EID CELEBRATED: The NWFP Governor, Lt-Gen Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, with thousands of faithful, offered Eid prayers at his ancestral town, Kohat, on Friday, at Markaz-i-Eidgah, Our Kohat correspondent adds.

Later, the governor, received a large number of people belonging to different walks of life who had come to wish him Eid at his private residence at Kohat Development Authority (KDA) Township. District Nazim Malik Asad, DIG Police Ghulam Mohammad and Malik Saad, DG CD & MD were also present on the occasion.

The governor returned to Peshawar on Saturday, the second day of Eid, where he met a lot of people in the prestigious Darbar Hall of the Governor’s House.

High-ranking officials who came to see him are: Chief Secretary Shakil Durrani, IG FC Maj-Gen Tajul Haq, IGP Mohammad Saeed Khan, Addl. Chief Secretary Jehangir Bashar.

A large number of civil and military officers, Nazimeen, councilors, tribal elders, journalists, students and member of the minority communities also came.

A large number of disabled and poor people, including widows and orphans, also came to receive Eid gifts.
