KARACHI: Bandits shoot youth to death

KARACHI, Dec 4: Bandits shot a teenager to death and injured his father in Macchar Colony in TPX police limits early Wednesday morning.

Police said that armed men barged into a house in Machhar Colony. They held the occupants of the house hostage and began collecting valuables.

When Imran, aged 17, tried to put up resistance to the bandits, they opened indiscriminate fire injuring both father and son and escaped.

Imran died on the spot. His father, Akhlaq, was injured.

The dead and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital.

Unidentified men shot a woman to death in her house in Quaidabad in the early morning.

Police said that armed men barged into Gul Zareen’s house in a shanty town near Bilal Colony in Quaidabad. They opened indiscriminate fire resulting in the death of Zeba and serious injuries to her husband, Gul. He was admitted to Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre.

Quoting the family sources, police said that the killing was a result of personal enmity.

ROAD ACCIDENT: A young man died and his brother was injured in a road accident on Shahrah-i-Pakistan on Wednesday evening.

Police said that Mumtaz Ahmed, aged 22, and Shafee Ahmed, aged 28, who were riding on a motorcycle (KCJ-6241), were knocked down by a speeding minibus of route W-11 (JE-7889) on Shahrah-i-Pakistan between Aisha Manzil and Karimabad.

The injured were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced Mumtaz was dead.

Following the accident, enraged youths set the bus on fire. The bus driver escaped after the accident.
