LAHORE, March 1: The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has included the Tour de Pakistan Race in its annual calendar of activities, raising the chances of maximum foreign countries’ participation in the upcoming edition of the event, scheduled to be held this year.

Khawaja Idrees Haider, secretary of the Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF), expressed his thanks to the UCI for including the Tour de Pakistan in the calendar of activities, after exempting the fee, which was Rs550,000.The official added that Syed Shahid Ali, the representative of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Pakistan, made efforts to get the Tour de Pakistan included in the UCI calendar and the fee exemption.

Idrees hoped a good number of foreign cyclists would come to Pakistan to take part in the next edition of the race carrying US$10,000 cash prizes for the first ten position holders.
