FAISALABAD, Nov 30: Robbers made of with thousands of rupees, gold ornaments and took away a car and five motorcycles in nine strikes in the city and its adjoining areas during the last 24 hours.
A gang of robbers intercepted a councillor of Tandlianwala union council and snatched Rs25,000 and his two-wheeler (No FDX 4515) in Chak No 415 GB.
The robbers tied up the councillor with ropes and fled away.
Four robbers snatched Rs50,000 and a motorcycle (No FDJ 4874) from commission agent Iqtidar Husain from Chak No 443 GB in the area of Samundari police station.
Highwaymen stopped a car by erecting barricades on Faisalabad-Sargodha Road and looted Rs20,000 from local trader Muhammad Iqbal.
Three robbers snatched thousands of rupees and a wrist watch from Muhammad Ramazan, cashier of a petrol station, on Samundari-Faisalabad Road.
Two masked men looted thousands of rupees, gold ornaments and other valuables from the women of Abdul Ghafoor’s family in Nisar Colony.
Another three masked men took away the two-wheeler (No FDX 5159) of Muhammad Afzal from Faisalabad-Sargodha Road.
Two highwaymen took away the motorcycle (No FDX 3540) of a student, Muhammad Imran, from Batala Colony.
Three unidentified armed men took away the motorcycle (FDH 8268) of Abdul Hameed from Chak No 266 RB.
Three robbers shot at and injured driver Muhammad Aslam and took away his taxi car from Chak No 266.
MURDERED: Three men shot dead a shopkeeper over a financial dispute in Chak No 354 GB, Jaranwala, on Saturday.
Falak Sher exchanged hot words with his friend Fida Husain over some money dispute in Chak No 354 GB.
Fida along with Fazal and Munshi came to the shop of Falak Sher few hours later and opened fire. As a result, Falak Sher died on the spot.
Jaranwala police registered a case against the accused who were at large till late on Saturday night.
