FAISALABAD, Nov 30: A district and sessions judge has asked the DIG to depute a senior police officer to reinvestigate the rape of a maid of the Madina Town Girls College in which the spouse of former principal Nargis Rafiq has been nominated as the main accused.

The judge gave the order on the basis of a medical board’s report in which it was claimed that Muhammad Rafiq, the husband of Nargis, was not “impotent” as declared in the previous medical report.

The People’s Colony police declared the rape case bogus on the basis of the medical report.

The victim sent a number of applications to higher authorities contending that the medical report was manipulated by the accused. She also demanded medical reexamination of the accused.

On her application, the judge constituted a three-member medical board which declared that the accused was physically fit.

People’s Colony police on the direction of the Lahore High Court had registered a rape case against Rafiq. The accused got pre-arrest bail which was confirmed on the basis of the medical report.
