DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 29: Missing National Identity Cards (NIC), passports and visas of two drug traffickers, who were arrested a few days back by Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), has created confusion among ANF staff.

Four  staff members were suspended.

Yousuf and his accomplice were arrested near Sheihk Yousuf Adda by the Anti-Narcotics Force when were tipped off by one of the officials of the ANF, Islamabad. Both were travelling in a car from Peshawar to Quetta and were aimed for Kuwait via Iran.

Four kilograms of heroin powder was recovered from their passenger bags lying inside the vehicle. Their NICs, passports and visas for Iran and Kuwait were also recovered.

All the recoveries were handed over to keep in Maalkhana of the ANF station. Excluding the heroin powder, all the other recoveries were found missing a few days later which caused turmoil among the staff of the station.

In  charge of the ANF Station, DSP Anwar Mahsood, ordered  the suspension of wireless operator Imran, constables Mir Afzal and Afroz Khan and driver Shahzad Khan whereas the person who was directly in charge of the Maalkhana, i.e., Muharrir Mukhtiar Afzal was open spared and was not even interrogated.

The Anti-Narcotics Force station was established last year at Dera Ismail Khan and during this period, only eleven First Information Reports have been registered so far.

Even the staff of the ANF station itself has expressed concern over the performance of their station.
