I WOULD like to appreciate the Punjab chief minister for his dedicated efforts in the way to develop the road infrastructure and some other projects for the benefit of the nation. But in the meantime I would also like to draw his attention to a major issue connected with the construction of Ring Road, Lahore. The Nawaz Sharif interchange was inaugurated a couple of weeks back but almost at a distance of three kilometres there is an interchange which connects the Sui Gas Society, State Life Housing Society and DHA Phase V.
Most of the work got completed almost one year back but due to the diminutive remaining work the life of commuters has become miserable.
Daily more than a thousand vehicles have to pass through this interchange, as there is a temporary narrow way passing through the service lane along with the drain, which is highly insecure and a couple of vehicles also got off track to that drain. But nothing concrete has been done so far.
I am unable to understand that billions of rupees have been spent on this interchange but it is being impeded on the last stage. Public security should not be disregarded during these kinds of projects.
I request to the chief minister to personally look into the matter and make necessary arrangements for completion of the remaining work so that any unforeseen accident would not happen in future.
