KARACHI, Nov 25: Eight ships carrying containers, general cargo and crude oil are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.
Five ships, Mar Challenger, Pretty River to unload and load containers, Ping Jiang to offload and load general cargo, Stamtina-P to unload logs and Keefan to offload high speed diesel were berthed after the departure of four.
The ships, which departed included Bunga Terasak, PONL Thekwini, Iron-D and Cielode Singapore, while Pan Queen, Atoyac, Kota Wangsa, PONL Singapore, Pretty River and Keefan are due to sail out on Tuesday.
Berth occupancy at the oil piers remained modest at 33 per cent owing to lesser calling by the tankers, while it was above average at 64 per cent thanks to larger arrivals of cargo ships.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 63,168 tons comprising 9,075 tons of export cargo and 54,093 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Tuesday: Chitral, Moringia, Oriental Bright, APL Pusan, Kota Intam and Ocean Starlight, to unload and load containers, Madre, with general cargo and Johar to offload crude oil.
