RAWALPINDI, Nov 22: The civil judge, Mohammad Iqbal Guraya, on Friday, awarded three-year rigorous imprisonment each to three thieves.

The convicts, Aslam Khan, Jan Bathi and Abdullah, had been booked by the Civil Lines police for depriving a number of people of their mobile telephone sets and bicycles.

BAIL REJECTED: Additional District and Sessions Judge Shehzad Pervez Abbasi has rejected the bail application of a student who had allegedly used unfair means in his examination.

The accused, Mohammad Ibrahim, had been booked by the Cantt police.

Similarly, Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Imtiaz Ahmad has rejected the bail application of an alleged drug-peddler.

The accused, Mohammad Ishfaq, had been arrested by Kotli Sattian police for allegedly possessing 500 grams charas.

The civil judge and judicial magistrate, Hussain Qadar Ghillo, rejected the bail application of an accused who had allegedly smuggled hand-grenades and explosive material.

The accused, Irshad, had been booked by Rawat police.

ROBBER IMPRISONED: The additional district and sessions judge, Chaudhry Imtiaz Ahmad, has awarded five-and-a-half-year rigorous imprisonment to a man for committing a robbery.

The convict, Abadat Hussain, was also fined Rs10,000, and would have to undergo an additional one-month imprisonment in case of non-payment.

According to Kotli Sattian police, the convict had looted Rs200,000 from a house.

The same court exonerated an accused, who had allegedly murder his daughter-in-law, owing to lack of evidence.

According to Kahuta police, Bashir Ahmad had allegedly stabbed Zainab Bibi to death after an exchange of harsh words.
