Man held after trying to kidnap boy

LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 18: Police on Sunday arrested an accused who attempted to kidnap an eight-year-old boy.

The alleged kidnapper, Fazil Khan, son of Saudad Khan, of Wanda Arsala Khan, had picked Rehmatullah Khan, son of Rahamdullah Khan, in his taxi car (1694-B, Mansehra) from Kabir Market. The boy is a nephew of former National Assembly member Haji Kabir Khan.

Sources said the accused had fled leaving the boy in the car when it got stuck in a watercourse on way to Darra Tang, some 2km from the scene of the kidnapping.  

They said the police picked up Fazil’s father and brothers, Naqib  Khan and Ghani Gul, to force him to surrender. The alleged kidnapper was arrested from a forest after two hours of search.
