PESHAWAR, Nov 7: A local court here on Thursday summoned an assistant superintendent of police, Dar Ali Khattak, and an SHO Shakirullah Bangash, in connection with the murder of a Union Nazim in Pishtakhara two months back.
The court presided over by a judicial magistrate, Safiullah Khan, directed the local police to produce two officials on Friday.
The court had earlier ordered to produce the officials on Thursday. However, the local police filed an application stating that the NWFP government had ordered judicial inquiry into the Pishtakhara incident and the inquiry officer, Ahsanullah Babar, would start proceedings on Thursday.
The police further claimed that the two police officers would be produced before the inquiry officer and due to same reason police was not in a position to produce them before the magistrate.
The two officials had filed pre-arrest bail application before the court of additional district and sessions judge.
However, they withdrew their application on Nov 2, following which they were taken into custody and shifted to the Police Club here.
When the two accused were not produced before any of the courts by the police advocate Ishaq Khalil, a close relative of the deceased Nazim, Fayyaz Khalil, filed an application before the magistrate, stating that the accused were taken into custody but not produced before the court for physical custody. Over that application the court had issued instant directives.
