KARACHI: Eight cars, 14 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Nov 5: Twenty-two vehicles — eight cars and 14 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Tuesday, police said.

Three cars were hijacked. Five others were stolen.

Six motorcycles were hijacked. Eight others were stolen.

ROAD ACCIDENT: A truck driver died and two others were injured when a truck overturned on Super Highway in the morning.

Police said a truck overturned while saving a man crossing the highway. The truck driver, Ali Mohammed, aged 35, died on the spot. To other men, identified as Zulfiqar and Ikram, were admitted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

ACCIDENT: A young man died another was injured when a lift at an apartment complex fell from the top floor in Garden area.

Police said the accident took place when maintenance work on the lift was in progress.
