QUETTA, Oct 31: The District and Session Judge, Quetta, Chaudhry Mohammad Ashraf, on Thursday acquitted the veteran nationalist leader Nawab Khair Bukhsh Marri and his three sons in a murder case occurred in Barkhan area of Balochistan.
The learned judge announced the judgment after completing the hearing of the case and found no proof of involvement of Nawab Marri and his three sons, Hair Byear Marri, Hamza Marri and Balach Marri in the murder case.
According to details on Dec 16, 1999, two persons were killed and many others were injured in a rocket attack on a Punjab-bound truck coming from Chamalang coalmines area.
Liaquat Marri had lodged an FIR with Barkhan Police in which he had nominated Nawab Marri and his three sons.
However, the prosecution failed to prove involvement of Nawab Marri and his sons in the rocket attack and acquitted them. Sajid Tareen advocate appeared before the court on behalf of Nawab Marri.
LIFE SENTENCE: Additional District and Session Judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan awarded life term to one Kaleemullah in murder case here on Thursday, adds APP.
The accused killed one Abdul Khaliq and escaped in his taxi.
The court after the trial sentenced him under section 302 PPC.
The same court also sentenced on Abdul Karim to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs10,000 for making fake passports and visas.
Kuclak police arrested the accused last year and recovered fake passports and visas from his possession.

The accused would undergo another six months imprisonment in case of default on payment.—APP
