ISLAMABAD, Oct 30: The parliamentary leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, will consult the government on the issue of Legal Framework Order and apprise the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal and the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy, about the government’s view within the next couple of days.
Mr Hussain who has been nominated as a coordinator at a joint meeting of the five political parties held on Tuesday on the initiative of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on Wednesday called on the chief of the ARD.
The ARD chief who had been given the mandate to negotiate on behalf of the alliance component parties with the other political parties reiterated ARD’s known stance on the issue of the Legal Framework Order and the restoration of 1973 Constitution.
Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan later apprised the leaders of the alliance component parties about his meetings with the leaders of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal and the PML-Q.
Talking to reporters after the meeting the ARD chief said that he demanded the restoration of the Constitution in the same condition in which it had been suspended in October 1999 soon after the military take-over.
The ARD at its meeting also adopted a resolution calling upon the government to immediately wind up accountability courts which were termed “Kangro courts” by Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan.
