SYDNEY, Oct 29: The Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX) said its eastern market indicator (EMI) fell three cents to 1132 cents a kg clean on Tuesday in sales at Sydney and Melbourne.
In Sydney, 18 micron fleece was one per cent dearer, 18.5/19.5m was 1.5 per cent dearer, 20/21m was generally unchanged, while 21.5/24m was was 0.5 per cent cheaper.
In Melbourne, 18m was irregular with best types unchanged, 18.5/19.5m was slightly dearer, 20m was slightly cheaper, 21/22m was one per cent cheaper, 23m was 1.5pc cheaper, while 24m was 0.5 per cent cheaper on a limited offering.
Of the 21,256 bales offered, 17.6 percent was passed in.
Sales continue in Sydney and Melbourne and Fremantle on Wednesday, with 26,424 bales currently on offer.—Reuters
