ISLAMABAD, Oct 26: President of People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP), Makhdoom Amin Fahim, on Saturday said a final round of talks with various political leaders would be held after Sunday to finalize their strategy regarding the formation of future government.
He stated this at a joint press conference with ARD chief Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan after both met to discuss future strategy here. The meeting was also attended by PML(N) leaders.
“We will continue to seek guidance from veteran politician Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan,” Fahim said.
The PPP president said they would continue their struggle for the restoration of democracy.
He said they had already completed a round of exploratory meetings with almost all the political parties having representation in the newly-elected National Assembly.
The ARD convener and leaders of PML(N) expressed their reservations over the meeting of Makhdoom Amin Fahim with the leaders of PML(N).
The ARD leaders were of the view that after the unanimous decision of the ARD of not compromising on the issues of restoration of 1973 Constitution, there was no justification of a meeting between Makhdoom Amin Fahim with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
The PML(N) leader Zafar Iqbal Jhagra, who was present at the meeting, said the remarks of Makhdoom Amin Fahim that he would continue to seek guidance from Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, were quite significant.
On a question about the future of ARD, he said the alliance would continue to struggle for restoration of Constitution of 1973.
He said they would lend support to only those parties or form coalition with them who agreed with the ARD on these constitutional issues.
