SHO injured by dacoits dies at Mayo

SIALKOT, Oct 25: The Begowala SHO who was injured in an encounter with dacoits died at the Mayo Hospital, Lahore, on Thursday night.

Inspector Rahat Ali was injured seriously by dacoits near Fatehgarh village, Begowala, in Daska tehsil late on Thursday night. He was taken to the Daska THQ Hospital from where he was shifted to the Mayo Hospital where he died.

His funeral was held at the Sialkot police lines on Friday. He was laid to rest in his native graveyard in Shakargarh tehsil’s suburban village.

SHOT DEAD: One person was shot dead by dacoits in Daska tehsil on Thursday night.

A bus was on its way to Bhopalwala. As it reached Dhillam Balugan village, some dacoits who were already looting the passersby by setting up a picket signalled it to stop. But the driver accelerated the speed. The bandits opened fire on the bus as a result of which conductor Mahmood, 33, died on the spot. The dacoits fled firing in the air.

It was the fourth major bus dacoity in Daska tehsil during the last six days.
