PESHAWAR, Oct 20: A two-member external assessment team from the Philippines visited the Nowshera district, and reviewed the pilot project on birth registration there on Saturday.

The team, comprising Ana Maria Dionela and Carlito B. Lalicon, was apprised of the efforts made for creating awareness on birth registration by the officials of the Plan Pakistan, an NGO, in the district.

The Plan Pakistan adviser on child rights, Khalid Naeem, informed the team that 80 per cent target on birth registration had been achieved in the district.

The team also held meetings with the district coordination officer and others and discussed with them the sustainability of the birth registration system.
