KARACHI, Oct 20: Sindh Chief Secretary K.B. Rind on Sunday visited various weekly bazaars and ordered improvement in the performance of public complaint centres.
The purpose of his visit was to review the prices of commodities and seek public opinion to control prices during the holy month of Ramazan.
He was informed by consumers at Gulshan-i-Iqbal that there was a need to improve the performance of the officials and attendants at the complaint centres at the weekly bazaars.
When asked by the chief secretary, the customers expressed satisfaction over the prices and quality of the commodities.
Rind directed the stall holders to ensure the prominent display of price lists at their stalls.
Later, the chief secretary also visited the weekly Sunday bazar at Defence Housing Authority.
RENOVATION WORK: K.B. Rind has directed various departments to expedite the renovation of the Sindh Assembly building and the Chief Minister’s House. He issued the directive during a visit to these buildings on Sunday morning.
At the Sindh Chief Minister’s House, he was informed by Additional Secretary of the House, Qurban Ali Memon, that renovation work at the House will be completed within the next eight days.
The chief secretary went round various sections of the House and directed that quality must be ensured in the renovation work. He also ordered some changes to further beautify the lawn of the Chief Minister’s House.
During visit to Sindh Assembly building, Rind inspected the seating arrangements of the assembly hall and recommended replacements for the old curtains.
He directed the officials to ensure improved lighting and proper ventilation for the hall.
He also checked the microphones, and ordered for their repair and replacement if required, so that no problem occurs during the assembly sessions.
He also directed renovation and redecoration of the MPA Hostel.—APP
