LOS ANGELES, Oct 19: George Foreman, who dominated the heavyweight class in the early 1970s before returning to win the title in 1994, will be inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame Saturday.
Also to be inducted at the new Crowne Plaza and Commerce Casino are former champions Miguel Canto, Mike McCallum and Lupe Pintor, trainer Freddie Roach, television commentator Larry Merchant and Bill Caplan.
In going 76-5 with 68 knockouts, Foreman was a dominating heavyweight champion in 1973-74 until Muhammad Ali stopped him in the “Rumble in the Jungle” in Zaire.—AFP
