RAWALPINDI, Oct 18: The students, teaching and non-teaching staff of Government College, Satellite Town, have agreed to establish a forum through which they will try to solve their problems on self-help basis.
This was decided in meeting held on Friday in the premises of the college. The divisional vice-president of lecturers and professors union of Punjab, Sardar Iftikhar, represented the teachers, and the students were represented by the general secretary of Islami Jamiat-i-Tulaba, Punjab, Nasrullah Khan.
Besides students and teachers, Nazimeen and non-teaching staff of the college also participated in the meeting. The participants condemned the de-nationalization of schools as well as the proposal for establishing governing bodies in educational institutions.
The forum will help solve the problems students, teaching and non-teaching staff by raising funds and collecting donations from the well-to-do people. It will also be responsible for the maintenance of college building as well as the furnishing of class rooms. The forum will help poor students in submitting their fees, besides providing them books and financial assistance.
